Historical Brief

The faculty was established by Presidential Decree No. 185 of 1973 and the study began with first year students (156 male and female students) for the academic year 1974-1975.
The number of graduates for the first year was (74) male and female students in 1977-1978.
The number of graduates was (2897) male and female students until the academic year 2011 - 2012.
In 1978, the first degree of Master of Science was awarded by the faculty in February in Chemistry.
The number of those obtained Master was 427 till the academic year 2011/2012 .
The first PhD degree in Philosophy of Science in Chemistry was also awarded in March 1978
