The Faculty of Science held a workshop today, Monday
December 8, 2025, on” The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Fields of
Scientific Research”, in the seminar’s hall of the Biological Sciences at 10 a.m.
The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Omar Abdel Aziz
Osman Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Alaa Ismail Ahmed Vice Dean for Education
and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdel Rahman Vice Dean for Community
Service and Environmental Development, in addition to faculty members and a
number of postgraduate students.
The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Tarek Abdel Hafiz
Professor of Artificial Intelligence in the Department of Computer Science,
where he addressed the launch of a comprehensive plan to enhance the use of Artificial
Intelligence Techniques with the aim of developing the scientific research
system and uploading the quality of academic and research outcomes.
His Excellency added that AI enables researchers the
ability to analyze massive amounts of data efficiently, contributing to reducing
the time to perform the researches and improving the results quality in fields
of life science, chemistry, Geology, and Physics.
The Dean of the faculty stated that the Faculty of
Science is preparing to establish a scientific excellence center at Minia
University. The center aims to integrate the AI tools into data analysis,
stimulate the scientific experiences, and develop predictive mechanisms for research
outcomes, emphasizing that this initiative comes as part of the university’s
strategic plan for digital transformation and support of scientific innovation.
“Several faculty members also
pointed out that such technologies help support sound scientific
decision-making. They are also considered a new and innovative approach to
increasing the production of high-quality research that complies with
international standards, in addition to opening new horizons for students and
researchers in developing innovative applications that serve the community.”
